Approach

McCann & Partners has long provided advice to clients on issues of sustainability. Aware of the need to safeguard the environment and its natural resources, whilst at the same time providing economic savings and social benefits, we continually improve our performance in this field by implementing the following practices:

  • Ensuring that the four elements of sustainability; economy, society, natural resources and environment influence our business decisions.
  • Including means of minimising harmful effects such as pollution, and maximising improvements to the built and natural environments in our design.
  • Conducting comparisons of different sites, processes and products, and assessing alternative designs.
  • Regularly reviewing performance and strategies in accordance with regulations.
  • We have employed innovative sustainable design in many of our projects, such as the National Waterside Museum, Swansea which implements rain water harvesting and solar pre-heating of hot water. In addition, the “Coefficient of Performance” of the chiller plant has been boosted by using the dock water for heat rejection.
  • McCann & Partners has the skills and expertise to allow informed decisions to be made at all stages of the design process in relation to the buildings energy usage
